Barrister Brand

Helen Smith, a Christchurch-based Barrister and Mediator, transitioned to independent practice after 15 years as a partner at top law firms Duncan Cotterill and Simpson Grierson. Known for her pragmatic approach and strategic guidance, she specialises in litigation, dispute resolution, and investigations.

I was tasked with translating Helen’s professionalism and reliability into a distinctive visual identity. While most law firms adopt a traditional, generic branding approach, I aimed to set Helen apart. Her identity reflects her role as a mediator and advocate, using symbolic elements to convey fairness and resolution. The flower device represents her ability to bridge opposing sides, while a bold colour palette captures her style.

This brand design project included a logo design, photoshoot, document templates and website.
