Swinard Wooden Floors

Swinard Wooden Floors

The skilled craftsmen at Swinard Wooden Floors have been installing floors for over 25 years. They provide a specialised product and have an impressive project portfolio with plenty of happy customers. But attitudes and perceptions change over time so a company that has been around for so long is likely to have  a brand that is in need of attention. The Swinard visual brand was no longer providing recognition for their value.

My personal connection with, and understanding of, Swinard Wooden Floors helped me to design a new identity to appeal to their audience of architects, builders and homeowners. The refreshed colour palette and established visual standards for their communication material will provide support for their sales team and will build a renewed recognition of the Swinard brand.

Queenstown and Southern Lakes Pipe Band

Queenstown and Southern Lakes Pipe Band

We had heaps of fun designing an emblem for the new Queenstown and Southern Lakes Pipe Band.

The band got to show off their new brand at the Shanghai Tourism Festival in China. They are pictured wearing the new Southern Lakes Tartan as designed by Shona Johnstone. southernlakestartan.nz

The colours of the tartan and the branding reflect this stunning part of New Zealand.

OneCall

OneCall

OneCall are office technology specialists. With the company’s current logo being more suited to that of telecommunication, OneCall required a new identity, a stronger, stand-alone brand representing all the products they supply.

My brief was to highlight the ‘four pillars’ of the company – speed, service, expertise, reliability. My solution was to introduce a colourful, friendly feel to the brand. This less corporate approach would give OneCall an identity that differentiates them from the product brands they supply.

The new identity was very well recieved by the company directors, while being unexpected it fulfilled their brief and they were keen to get it out and working. The new branding appears on their building signage, vehicles, stationery and website.

Billens

Billens Building

The original Billens Building, best known for housing Billens Camping Store in the 1990’s, was badly damaged in the earthquakes of 2011. Stockman Group completed a rebuild in March 2018.

Level one and two of the new building house Above Your Space – 25 modern offices stylishly fitted out with designer furniture. Tenants have access to kitchens, lounges and shared conference rooms.

My role in designing the buildings visual brand included: a logo and design theme, exterior and interior way finding graphics, interior design elements, history infographics and wallpaper.

The Playhouse Challenge

The Playhouse Challenge

Robertson Creative was proud to support Canterbury’s first ever ‘Playhouse Challenge’, a fantastic competition jointly run by Birthright Canterbury and the Tenants Protection Association Christchurch.

Top architects and builders compete against each other to build Canterbury’s best playhouse. Five playhouses are displayed and auctioned at the Star Home Show, with funds raised shared between Birthright and the TPA to help them continue their work with Canterbury families.

I joined a fabulous group of generous supporters and was responsible for the design of The Playhouse Challenge logo and sponsorship material.

Kerbside collection calendar

2017
Client — Ashburton District Council
Role — Designer
Problem

The Ashburton District Council were introducing their kerbside collection service and they needed to clearly inform residents of the collection schedule. The schedule was easily put into words but difficult to illustrate on a calendar.

Solution

We designed an infographic that simplified the schedule and allowed for public holidays and alternate week collections.

Since the introduction of the wheelie bin and crate kerbside collection service, more recyclable items have been diverted away from landfill and into recycling. This is a fantastic outcome.
